I have opened this part of the forum to give our visiting guests an opportunity to air their thoughts and suggestions on the upcoming 40th anniversary commemoration of the 5th of October 1968 civil rights march that took place in Derry.If you were on the march that day i would love to hear your recollections of it. If you would prefer to email me your recollection i would be delighted to publish it on the civil rights section of the website (hugo@springtowncamp.com).  |

| Sadie Campbell, former Springtown Camp resident, has been especially invited to meet the President of Ireland, Mrs Mary Mc Aleese by the members of the Civil Rights 1968 Commemoration Committee. The Committee are hosting a two day International Civil Rights conference in the Guildhall on the 4th and 5th of October 2008. Members of this committee include Ivan Cooper, Fionbarra O' Dochartaigh and John Hume. Sadie will be part of a very distinguished group of people who will meet with the president on that day. |
