This is a great site-my granny was Bella O Hagan granda Johnny O Hagan- my da is Jamesie and ma Rosie. I lived in the camp until I was 9 years old before moving to Creggan. Our address was 134 Springtown Camp. I am now 54 I will never forget it is impossible, all the good people I met when growing up- Ted Jennings Bimbo Boyle Charlie Mc Carron who took me to learn to play the bag pipes at Reddens Hut with Teddy Long in Pennyburn, with Willie Foster's St Patricks Boys Pipe Band. These were very happy care free days as a child. Thanks to my upbringing in the Camp, I have been lucky enough to have come across so many decent people. In my mind as I travel through the world many miles from the camp their memory and my relationships with them sustain me and push me forward to a decent life which I could not have secured without the good solid foundation of a happy childhood supported by so many people now sadly passed away who lived in Springtown Camp. Good luck to everyone associated with this important website.

Hi. My late father was Mr DAS (Arthur) Murphy, Housing Manager, Corporation. He appears in the video being interviewed by UTV. This must have been a very difficult time for everyone back in those days. Sadly, my dad was very ill at the time of the play, but we showed him a programme. He was unable to speak, but his eyes said it all..he knew what it was all about! Goodluck with your website.

my mother and father,Patsy(Hoppy) and Kathleen lived in the camp,i have listened to stories since i can remember, and it must have been some craic. My oldest brother John (Hoppy) still goes on about it, and when he talks to anyone from the camp like Snooker Cullen he always says "Happy Campers"
